When the pro himself chooses

A stone's throw from a lovely bathing lake near Väddöviken in Roslagen lies Moa and Christian's summer retreat. The surroundings consist of cultivated land with beautiful stone walls and patches of arable land.

Moa says that they have long been looking for a country place. 'We started with the dream of a large turn-of-the-century house with creaking floors but quite quickly realized that such a house, charming as it may be, also involves a lot of work. We therefore also began to look at building new and came across Sommarnöjen, which we did not yet know at the time.'

The couple, who are interested in architecture and design, were attracted by Sommarnöjen's design language and decided to book an initial meeting.

Moa, who has a background in design and interior at a housing developer, wanted to be able to put her own stamp on the interior.

'During our first meeting it turned out that Sommarnöjen are flexible when it comes to influencing the house, both in floor plan and material choices, so then we decided that this would be the right house for us,' says Moa.

The choice fell on Tidlös Sommar 90 primarily because the house so well met the couple's requirements for interior functions. 'We wanted many sleeping places, two toilets and a spacious kitchen and living room. We also like that it has glass sections on three sides so that the light can flow freely,' says Christian.

Together with Sommarnöjens architect the floor plan has been redrawn to meet the couple's needs. Interior materials and color choices have also been adapted to the family's taste.

Moa and Christian have spent more time in their new house than they thought they would before they moved in. 'We go out basically every weekend year-round. We celebrate Christmas Eve and Midsummer and also spend the entire summer vacation out here. Since we both work a lot, it's incredibly nice to just be able to relax and do what you actually feel like and not have to take care of all the maintenance that an older house would have involved,' says Christian.

'And of course we also love how it looks. The materials are solid and will age beautifully, and it's airy with all the windows,' adds Moa.
