Stefan's new Sommar 50 produced unexpected results

For several decades Stefan's family has had a country residence on one of Mälarens most beautiful islands. There they have their own green oasis with a view over Mälarens dreamy waters. In recent years several grandchildren have joined the family and therefore they have outgrown their beautiful old house.

Now a new guest house stands ready on the rise behind the main building.

The new house comes from Sommarnöjens collection Sommar and is 50 sqm in size. It is clad in tar vitriol and has a discreet shed roof in galvanized sheet metal. Fully equipped, it allows family members to live more independently of each other than before. In the living room there is a cast-iron stove and in the two bedrooms there is a built-in double bed and a bunk bed respectively. The hallway floor is covered with granite ceramic and custom-built wardrobes are used for storage.

The living room's surrounding glass walls give an open and transparent feeling. The glass sections interact well with their main building, which also has impressive windows, albeit in a more classical spirit.

– We were attracted by the fact that someone had thought about aesthetics, Stefan says. ”The new house provides a charming and beautiful contrast.”

The house's placement on the plot is something the family became unexpectedly pleased with. They thought the view from the living room was so nice that they chose to add a veranda without a railing. It follows the ground closely and has given the house a new dimension.

Stefan became very pleased. He has discovered a new favorite spot.

– It looks like a paradise from here.

The family has not only gained more space for their leisure time together. They have fallen for their country residence anew.
