Panorama over the lake

Rikard and Julia's house project got underway as early as 2015. It was before Sommarnöjen had finished the house collection Sommar. There were only sketches available, which at first made them uncertain. The opportunities to influence the design of the house were, on the other hand, great. They decided to go for it.

The investment resulted in a modern holiday home of 90 square meters in an idyllic forest glade on Värmdö. The house has a slim monopitch roof with roof overhangs and a 12-meter-long glazed section from floor to ceiling. Initially they wanted a wider house, but the municipality objected on the grounds that it would be too close to the plot boundary. A slight rotation of the house still preserved the view over the lake.

The house got three compact bedrooms. They were placed together with the bathroom in the rear part of the house, with the forest close behind. The wardrobes were redrawn and integrated into the bedrooms. Making the changes was simple and now the house's floor plan suits the family even better.

"We knew what everything cost, down to the smallest towel hook," says Rikard. "It's good for both buyers and sellers."

The kitchen together with the main room makes up the front half of the house. One single long, open space with the glazed section giving the feeling of a room that never ends. A cozy fireplace was placed centrally.

They handled the groundwork and all permits themselves, but it took a lot of time. In hindsight they would have preferred a turnkey contract and let Sommarnöjen take care of everything.

When the delivery day finally came it didn't take long before their new holiday home was ready to use.

"Suddenly the house was there. In just five hours!"

Truly turnkey.
