Sweden's first permit-free house of 50 square meters!

A new legislative proposal is on its way to change how we build and live in the countryside. To show what it could mean, Sommarnöjen is launching a completely finished rural home of 50 sqm, which according to the proposal could become permit-free. The house will premiere at Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm 13–18 June.

The house is shown in connection with the new legislative proposal on permit-free houses up to 50 sqm outside the detailed development plan. The house we place on the square is a unique exhibition house where we interpret the classic, red summer cottage in a modern design.

Talks about the new legislative proposal

FRIDAY 13 JUNE – PREMIERE

The new legislative proposal, which is expected to come into force on 1 December, raises many questions. Ask your questions directly to the Minister for Housing Andreas Carlson and discuss with us at Sommarnöjen.

At 12:00 on 13 June we will open the house. At the inauguration, Minister for Housing Andreas Carlson and architect Anders Berensson will be present and we hope for rewarding discussions about the new proposal.

Garden architect Hanna Hofman Bang and furniture upholsterer Mimmi Staaf have together written the book Grow the Food. In the book you can follow Hanna and Mimmi during a season in Vackebol and at Lagnö Gård in Sörmland where they grow food for their own households.

Come and have breakfast with Mimmi & Hanna and learn more about how to care for your vegetable patch and get your vegetables to grow big. Let yourself be inspired to dare to sow and grow vegetables and to realize that there really are no rights and wrongs.

Sommar, second hand and 50-square-metre inspiration

WEDNESDAY 18 JUNE – FLEA MARKET!

Many people furnish their summer houses with heirlooms and flea market finds – objects that carry memories and make the house a beloved home.

Together with stylist Ida Lauga we have furnished our newly built show house solely with second hand. The result is a summer home full of warmth, character and personality.

Everything in the house will be for sale – from furniture and lamps to textiles – and every detail is carefully chosen with the same care with which we build our houses. Welcome to be inspired and perhaps find your own favourite!

All interior is for sale so come by and reserve your favourites!

Pickup takes place on the last day between 13:00 – 16:00 when we'll run a flea market with everything that remains.

SWEDEN'S FIRST BUILDING-PERMIT-FREE HOUSE AT 50 SQM

The new house is a special version developed to illustrate the new regulations and the new size for a building-permit-free house. The name was given even before the house was created – 50:an Carlson – named after the sitting Minister for Housing Andreas Carlson.

The house is a combination of our Tidlös Berg 50 and our Klassisk Berg 50 with a new floor plan and exciting details on the facade. It has a large social room with living area and kitchen. One bedroom with storage and a desk. A good bathroom and a cozy loft that quickly becomes the children's favourite spot in the house.
