A holiday home should be pleasant to stay in year-round – regardless of season and usage needs. With good insulation and well-thought-out heating solutions, from radiators and underfloor heating to heat pumps, stoves and solar panels, there are several ways to create a comfortable and energy-efficient indoor climate.

How to choose the right heating for your holiday home

The insulation in our houses is made of ecological fiber from recycled glass. All windows have triple-pane energy glass. The houses have natural ventilation reinforced with an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The Winter collection has extra insulation in the roof (and from Winter 50 also in the floor) to withstand mountain winters well. If you wish to build a house in the Sommar collection in the mountains, it is no problem to get that with reinforced insulation as well.

As standard, our houses have a heating system adapted for comfortable stays in autumn, winter and spring. It has efficient and discreet radiators that quickly raise the temperature in the house and can be lowered somewhat when the house is empty to save energy.

In rooms with large sliding glass sections, mobile radiators are an elegant solution. During the warm half of the year when people move mostly through the doors, they are stored in a cabinet and create free spaces.

Bathrooms with underfloor heating as standard

The bathrooms in all our houses have electric underfloor heating as standard which, together with the granite ceramic tiles on the floor, gives a pleasant feeling. All models of Winter also have an entrance hall with granite ceramic and underfloor heating.

WiFi-controlled radiators

You can add WiFi-controlled radiators to the heating system. That way you make full use of the advantages of air-based heating and can switch on the heat with your phone a few hours before you arrive at the countryside. Convenient and energy-efficient.

WiFi-controlled and elegant air-to-air heat pump

If you spend a lot of time in your house during the winter, an air-to-air heat pump is a good complement. It reduces the heating cost considerably if used for longer periods in winter. As a bonus you get a cooling function for warm summer days. The model we have chosen has a nice fabric front that blends into the interior and is available in different colors. Of course you control it via your phone.

Cast-iron stove

For all models of Sommar you can choose our selected cast-iron stove. It has a timeless and simple shape with visible fire and spreads both warmth and atmosphere. In Winter 75 and Winter 100 a stove with extra good heating properties is standard.

Water-based heating system

If you are going to live in your house permanently and want it heated continuously, a water-based underfloor heating system can be an option. It provides comfortable warmth in winter and lower ongoing costs, but involves a larger initial investment. All our houses can be equipped with water-based underfloor heating connected to the desired boiler, air heat pump or geothermal heating. We then deliver the house without wooden floors and let a local VA partner quote the system you want and install it on site at your home. After that we lay the floor and you can move in.

Solar panels

All our houses can be combined with complete solar panel solutions. We collaborate with some of Sweden's leading players and can offer several smart solutions. Which one suits best depends on the size of your house, the type of roof you want, how the house is oriented and where in Sweden you live.
