Rural idyll in Stora Rör

Just north of Färjestaden on Öland there is a picturesque small-boat harbour called Stora Rör. A stone's throw from the harbour, there is a 120 square metre family home that is open for viewing all summer.

The house being built is a Classic Sommar 120 with floor plan Sjö. In a classic execution the romantic dream of a rural farm is realised. A gabled roof with eaves as well as sliding glass sections and windows with authentic wiener bars make the house blend into the traditional buildings. The house is painted Falu red and has a red metal roof.

The house on Öland has our original interior, Lugn, with light and solid materials. White-waxed wooden floors, woodwork and kitchen that give a summery feeling. Finely sawn panels on interior walls and ceiling that provide atmosphere. In the bathroom light wood meets granite ceramics in tones of limestone.

The house is furnished by Lovisa Furubo who works as a photographer and stylist and is passionate about sustainability and reuse. Two years ago she and her husband bought a derelict house outside Kalmar. On her blog at Residence you can follow their journey from a run-down derelict house to a dream home.

Sommar 120 is the house we have created without having to compromise. The house offers function and comfort whether it serves as a second home or as permanent residence.
